Welcome to Hoosier Las Vegas!
Several months ago, before all that drama with our house, my sister asked us if we would be interested in spending the 4th of July weekend with her and her fam in Branson. Of course we agreed since we hadn’t seen them since our wedding (almost) three years ago. At the time, we said we would come down from the 3rd to the 6th, but then all the drama happened and my brain went all fuzzy and the husband told me his office was closed on the Monday after the holiday, so we made plans to drive down after work on Friday and come back on Monday. In case you were wondering, today is not the third (nor is Monday the sixth). But we are here.
For those unfamiliar with Branson, think Las Vegas but without the strippers and gambling. Bonus points: we drove past the World’s Largest Rocking Chair. And yes you read that right: Worlds. Largest. Rocking. Chair. I honestly don’t know what we’re going to be doing for the next few days, but I do know that we will have fun. We’ll go swimming, maybe we’ll go to Silver Dollar City, maybe there will be fireworks.
Right now, the husband is trying to get the daughter to sleep in this strange hotel room and I’m contemplating sleep. To everyone: Happy 4th! I’ll see you next week!
